Snap + Learn: Engaging Instant Camera Learning Activity
If you’re looking to switch things up and get your kiddo excited about learning, then throw a polaroid style camera in the mix! That makes learning exciting no matter the age, right?!

Where To Start:
For this activity I kept it pretty simple as we are in our Kindergarten era.
But, feel free to cater the lesson to older grades by having them write a little more in-depth for each photo (paragraph style), take photos at a zoo/landmark/etc. type of location to then have them further study the topic of the photo (i.e. research on a lion and creating a paragraph focused on lion facts); you can then have them present to you their work and writing to your or their peers to encourage public speaking and presentation skills.
Overall it is a very simple and straightforward activity. Go out and collect however many photos you desire for each page. Guide them through properly using the camera and caring for the camera. Making sure their fingers aren’t in the way of the lease. And allowing them to create a styled little photo if they desire (My son did this for the sports photo). Let them have fun, take initiative and be creative with it!
After we captured our photos, I showed him an example of a layout I created.
He then was able to freely create each themed page as he desired. The only rule I implied was to ensure the three sentences were relevant to the photo. I did help guide him with writing to ensure proper spelling. And after photos we got the writing portion out of the way (since I know that’s not the most exciting part).
